Kevin Williams

President and CEO of GAA Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management

Kevin W. Williams was most recently appointed as President and CEO of Global Automotive Alliance and its companies. In this role, Williams is a Corporate Board Member and leads all operations of the company. Prior to this role, Williams was most recently Chairman, President and Managing Director of General Motors (GM) of Canada Ltd. In this role, Williams was responsible for leading all General Motors operations in Canada, with revenues of $38.7B. Prior to this role, Williams had served as GM Vice President and General Manager, Service and Parts Operations, where he oversaw all GM Global Aftersales businesses, with Global revenues of $24.2B annually, and served as Chairman and Global Process Leader for the GM Automotive Aftermarket Strategy Board.

Williams began his GM career in 1983 as a reliability analyst at Buick Motor’s division in Flint, Michigan. In 1989, Williams became the General Supervisor of Production at the Lansing Craft Centre in Lansing, Michigan; and, in 1991 was appointed Program Readiness Manager for GM's first electric vehicle program (EV1).

Williams earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Tennessee State University in 1983, and a Master's of Science Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University in 1989. In 2002, Williams completed the General Motors Senior Executive Development Program.

Williams has served on the Board of Directors of the United Negro College Fund Foundation, and in 2017 became Vice-Chairman of the Board. He is also a Director on the Tennessee State University Foundation Board of Directors since 2009, and led the development of the Foundations Strategic Framework and Key Initiatives. In 2017 Williams was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association, where he serves as the Non-Physician Public Member of the Board. In June of 2018, Williams was appointed to the Public Board of Directors of Detroit Manufacturing Systems, a Detroit based Automotive Supplier. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Genesys Health Systems of Michigan from May 2009 thru June 2012.

Williams has been married for 30+ years to Arlene Pope Williams and resides in Nashville, TN. They have two daughters, Alisa Williams (28) a graduate of Yale University, now residing San Francisco, CA, and working in Finance/Private Equity, and Kaylyn Williams (24), a recent graduate of Yale University, with a Master’s Degree in political science, with a concentration in urban and health policy, and currently resides in Washington D.C.
