Sylvester Hester

President and CEO of GAA Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management

Sylvester Hester is president and CEO of GAA Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. Since earning this role in 2015, Hester’s focus on operational excellence and sustained growth has resulted in a corporate acquisition, entré into new markets, an increase in facilities, innovation in product and service delivery, and enhanced national and global relationships.


His extensive career in automotive parts manufacturing began in 1985 as an engineering technician for General Motors Advanced Engineering and experience at Regal Plastic and other suppliers. In 1993, Hester returned to Regal Plastics as vice president where his success led chairman and CEO, William Pickard, to select him as president of ARD, in 1998. In 2003, he was named president of GAA’s newest acquisition, Key Logistics, and today Hester is president of Global SQ, LLC as well as president and CEO of Grupo Antolin Primera. Hester has led the company in aerospace expansion, including two new logistics operations and a logistics company providing quality inspection services to auto makers.

He earned a Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in Leadership from Central Michigan University. He has completed the Advanced Minority Business Executive Program at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business; the Kellogg School of Management Advanced Management Education Program at Northwestern University; and the Quantum Shift Program at the University of Michigan.


A conciliator and collaborator, Hester prides himself on his reputation for leading teams in various locations around the country in providing quality manufacturing and exceptional logistics management to aerospace, automotive, food & beverage, government and retailers.

He serves on the boards of the Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council, Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, is chair of the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee’s Automotive Manufacturing Committee, and a past board member of the Atlanta Business League.


Hester holds a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering with an emphasis in Polymer Chemistry from Ferris State University. His foundation in the plastics business also included work as a project engineer/project manager at Regal Plastics, before moving into account management at Tredegar Molded Products and Woodbridge Inoac, He returned to Regal to assist it in growing into what then became a leading minority-owned supplier, GAA.
